Swan Serenity

There’s something about the swan.

Something mythical,mystical, magical.
If I would have to make up this really intriguing character for a fairy-tale, I don’t think up I would come up with anything better than …a swan.
Imagine this pristine white creature, with its serene and friendly but yet inscrutable dark face. A really strong and heavy -not so say clumsy- bird. Actually way too large to be a bird at all. And then imagine a totally unexpected elegance when it starts to fly. Just a totally calm, serene creature, perfectly sliding over the smooth water surface, it’s beauty flawlessly reflected in the water. As if it was designed for a mirror. And then, when you got this wonderfully calm scene visualized, picture around eight utterly cute miniature versions of this white wonder. And then, picture something getting just a little too close to them youngsters. The ever so calm and friendly bird turns into a white furious wing flapping dragon, that can’t and won’t be stopped. Not by anyone, not by anything. Never. It defends its cygnets like a furious fallen angel and anyone who has ever faced a raging swan will respect them forever. After this explosion of fury, they gracefully re-transform into this angel-like being as if nothing ever happened. This contrast of this hypnotizing white elegance and the explosive dark power will never seize to amaze me.
