Hoar Frost Photography
Real winters have become a rarity here. Snow might fall for 3.5 hours a year, if we’re lucky. But every now and then, we’re treated to the next best thing: hoar frost.
It forms in calm conditions, with high humidity and temperatures below the dew point. Fog freezes into delicate crystals, technically known as freezing fog.
But while the science may sound dull, the result is nothing short of magical.
Enchanted World
Suddenly, everything is dusted in a crisp white coat. Every tree, bush, fence, and pole gets frosted, as if the world itself has been gently powdered.
Even if you’ve never witnessed it before, I’m sure you can imagine: for just a few fleeting hours, the world turns into a fairy-tale.
And when a red fox wanders into this white wonderland… well, you simply couldn’t make me happier.
