What We All Have in Common
There is one thing all people share: we all have or have had a mother. Someone who carried us for nine months and gave us life. That’s something to be grateful for and to reflect on on a day like this.
This is something we share not only with our fellow humans, but also with our fellow animals.
Red Fox Mothers
What has always touched me deeply is how fox mothers seem to know exactly what to do. Regardless how hungry they are, a freshly caught prey goes straight to the cubs. Despite how painful it may be, the young are always allowed to drink. No matter how tired they are, there is always time for another wash, a moment of care, some affection. Fox mothers go to extraordinary lengths to give their cubs the best possible start in life. And that is exactly how it should be.
Some Extra Love
I wish everyone a mother with the unconditional love of a fox mother. Unfortunately, not everyone is blessed with this kind of love. So, Happy Mother’s Day to everyone an extra warm thought for everyone who no longer has a mother, or who did not have the mother they deserved.

Thank you for your exquisite pictures of this much maligned beautiful animal.
Always loved foxes.
We don’t have them in New Zealand.
Seeing their interactions and personalities in your photos brings me joy.
Thank you.
Hi Barbara,
Too bad there are no foxes there! I think New Zealand is one of the few places in the world where they don’t occur…
But, it’s nice that you can still enjoy seeing them this way! Thanks for your nice comment & greetings from the Netherlands!
