Even after all these years, every new print sale still feels like a …. beautiful Christmas present.
How magical is it that someone, sometimes on the other side of the world, chooses to bring a little piece of that moment into their home? My fox in a snowstorm, a misty autumn forest glowing with colour, a pink sunset with a swan stretching her wings… Or that summer roe deer, that curious little owl, becoming book covers, corporate cards or even a calendar page.
As always, some images stood out this year, and I thought it would be fun to share the 2025 bestsellers here.
1. Seconds Before the Light Went Out
Perhaps you’d expect a fox to take the top spot, but this misty autumn forest quietly stole the show in private print sales. It was a neck-and-neck race with the foxes, but this soft, timeless scene ended up decorating more walls than any other this year.
2. Happy Fox
Ever since this blissfully smiling fox took over the internet, he’s been spreading joy, so it was no surprise he made the top three again. Some photos just keep making people happy, year after year.
3. Fairytale Fox | Red Fox in a Snow Storm
This snowstorm evergreen continues to charm collectors. And yes, I am still grateful I didn’t freeze that day…. Though honestly, it remains one of my most magical field experiences ever!
4. Zen Fox
Not in the top three for wall art this year, but he certainly made up for it in the corporate world, appearing on the Nationale Postcode Loterij campaign and gracing the cover of their field-guide.
5. The Smiling Fox
“Happy animals are the best animals” has been my motto for as long as I can remember. Thankfully, many of you agree. This easygoing fox continues to warm countless living rooms with her gentle, happy energy.
6. Little Owl Big World
This was the very first little owl I ever photographed. How wonderful that this tiny creature still captures so many hearts.
7. Pink Swan
Swans… I will never tire of them. Elegant, graceful and endlessly photogenic. Apparently you feel the same, because this pink sunset beauty once again made the bestseller list.
8. The Pole Dancer | Climbing Tree Frog
A surprising new entry! Fluffy animals are popular for obvious reasons, but apparently you also have a soft spot for pole-dancing tree frogs. I can’t blame you.
9. Murmuration Magic | The Duck
Flocks of starlings swirling through the sky… a phenomenon I wish everyone could witness at least once. Until then, this print seems to be a welcome stand-in.
10. A Shared Tenth Place
Several images fought for the final spot: dragonflies, a white rabbit, kissing foxes in the snow, a Costa Rican endemic hummingbird, sunrise deer and -of course – more Zen Foxes, Fox Love and foxes in the snow.
But what I truly wanted to say is this:
To everyone who purchased my work this year; thank you!
From small postcards to wall-filling panels, from single prints to millions of copies… I can’t express how grateful I am for your support and appreciation. I hope we will all be able to continue enjoying our beautiful nature in 2026.
