Ode to Autumn: A Season for All Senses

Invite fall’s magic in with my Fine-art Autumn Landscape Prints or my Autumn Animal Prints

The Smell of Autumn

The drizzly-sweet scent of soggy moss.
The dirty-but-delicious aroma of wet, rotting leaves.
The strangely appetizing odor of drooling mushrooms, leaking into the soil.

The United Colors of Autumn

Glorious gradients, crafted by leaves, shifting effortlessly from fresh spring green to almost-winter brown.
That gentle golden light, turning trees into candlelit cathedrals.
Mushrooms galore, in shapes you wouldn’t believe.
Some look like candy, as if a clumsy candy-man spilled his stash across the forest floor.
Even the scruffiest birds seem to glow like top models in this autumn stage set.

The Sound of Autumn

The nervous flutter of leaves.
The sharp crack of branches in the wind.
A sudden pine cone falling, breaking the rhythm.
Relieved birdsong once the storm has passed.
And above all: That profound silence, the kind that hangs in the air just before another storm comes to sweep the forest clean.

That Autumn Feeling

I love all seasons, but autumn has a certain je ne sais quoi.
That quiet magic.
Autumn has mood.
And presence.
Autumn is…

‘Nuff said.
You don’t talk about autumn.
Autumn should be done.
