Do you remember how, as a little child, you could stare at falling snow and feel as if the world around you had disappeared? Or how you were convinced you could fly, or talk to frogs?
The world was way smaller than it would eventually become, yet somehow infinitely more boundles

Painting, drawing or playing with clay was never about the result. It was about the feeling, the smell, the colour, the shape and even the taste. Squeezing clay between your fingers, splashing paint around, drawing outside the lines… Things we might still want to do, perhaps, but… What will people think? Will it get enough likes? Will anyone want to hang it on their wall?’

And the funny thing is… none of that really matters. For me, real art, creativity and self-expression are about experience. About becoming completely absorbed in the moment and finding something deeply meaningful, both inside yourself and outside. Ideally, at a moment like that, there isn’t even a difference between the two anymore.

There is no discomfort. No regret, no stress and no worries. Just you and your creation. That experience – that flow – is infinitely more valuable than any number of likes or sales.

And you know what’s beautiful? When you manage to create from that place of deep connection with both your subject and you, something magical can happen. Suddenly, everything just seems to fall into place. As if something from your inner world flows into your painting, writing, drawing, sculpture or photograph, straight towards the viewer. And the image resonates. Perhaps allowing someone else to experience just a little of the magic of your moment. And maybe that, ultimately, is what creating is really about….
